Went in with a goal of sub 3. I knew that was a tough goal being I haven't been doing much marathon pace work and the humidity was 91%. I never dreamed of having a shot at winning. Around mile 16 a volunteer told me I was in 2nd and the leader was probably a 1/4 mile ahead. I decided at that point to pick it up and go for the win which worked out but it probably cost me the sub 3. The wind was blowing 10-15 mph into face the last 3 miles that didn't help either. I have to say I'm just happy to win. I will save the sub 3 for a cooler day.
